‘I want us all to celebrate my career over the last 15 years’ – Dwayne Bravo after his retirement from Indian T20 League
On 2 December 2022, Dwayne Bravo announced his retirement from the Indian T20 League. For the last 15 years, he has been representing the Chennai franchise in this rich-vein league. On 15 November, Chennai submitted their final list of retained and released players along with other franchises. Fans were surprised not to see this veteran Caribbean all-rounder on that list.
Now, he has confirmed that he has taken retirement from this league. However, Dwayne Bravo will be seen in Yellow jersey as he will now work as the bowling coach of the franchise in the upcoming season. Regarding this announcement, Chennai also shared posts on social media platforms where Bravo shared his experience throughout all these years.

Speaking about his journey in this league, Dwayne Bravo said that now, he wants his fans to celebrate his journey throughout all these years. He said: “After 15 years of playing in the most toughest T20 league, I announce today that I will be no longer be taking part in Indian T20 League. It’s been a great journey, with a lot of ups and downs.”
“At the same time, I am grateful to be a part of the Indian T20 League for the last 15 years. I know it’s a sad day for myself, my family, and most importantly my fans. But at the same time, I want us all to celebrate my career over the last 15 years. As I get ready to move on and hang up my bowling boots, I would like to let my fans know that I am looking forward to putting on my coaching cap.” Bravo added.
He also confirmed that he will work as the bowling coach for the Chennai franchise. “I look forward to working with the young bowlers in CSK. I am really excited about this new opportunity; that my calling is now to help and develop the next generation of champions. Thank you for all the love and support over the years. Forever Yellove.” Dwayne Bravo concluded.
