‘I will be focusing on…’ – Shikhar Dhawan reveals his strategy for leading Punjab Kings in upcoming IPL edition
Shikhar Dhawan, renowned as a man for the big stage, has made his name in the international circuit by scoring big runs on the big stages. The Indian star opener has also been a reckoning force in the IPL. Shikhar Dhawan has been a part of the IPL since the inaugural edition and has amassed 6,617 runs in 217 IPL matches. He has been the second all-time leading run-scorer in the IPL.
Shikhar Dhawan is currently left out of the national side and has currently featured in the IPL in the recent past, therefore despite being an IPL legend he will be under pressure to prove that he is still worthy of playing at the elite level. Shikhar Dhawan will lead the Punjab Kings franchise in the IPL. He will look to create history by leading PBKS to their maiden IPL title.
Shikhar Dhawan’s plans for the upcoming IPL edition
Shikhar Dhawan must be quite fresh and will be rearing to lead the side in the upcoming IPL edition. In a recent interview with a newspaper, Shikhar Dhawan spilled the beans on how he will lead the side and what will be his plans leading to the upcoming edition of the IPL.
Dhawan believes that maintaining a strong team bond and unity among the players is very important to have a successful tournament and his primary objective will be to create such an environment that fosters these feelings in a team. He also spoke about devising specific plans for both the batters and bowlers, as per their roles and rotating the squad to keep players as fresh as possible.
Shikhar Dhawan said, “I will be focusing on emphasizing team unity and camaraderie, building a strong team bond is essential for success. I will also develop a clear strategy for both batting and bowling assess the strengths and weaknesses of the squad and plan match strategies accordingly. Not just that, I will also ensure the effective utilization of players based on their strengths and the match conditions. And will also rotate the squad to keep players fresh and maintain a balanced team throughout the tournament”.
