‘India mai aane k lie sab thik hojaiange’ – Fans react as Steve Smith is likely to be fully fit for World Cup 2023

With just less than two months left for the Men’s ODI World Cup, all cricketing teams are gearing up to win the title in the host country, India. Australia is considered one of the most successful teams, and they will look to win another major title this year after winning the World Test Championship Final as they defeated Rohit Sharma’s side in June earlier this year.

Notably, Australia skipper Pat Cummins sustained an injury during the Ashes and was expected to get fit ahead of the World Cup. In addition, star batter Steve Smith also admitted that he sustained injuries during the recently concluded Ashes series. Moreover, the stylish right-handed batter didn’t know when he got injured at Lord’s Cricket Ground.

In addition, the 34-year-old batter says that he has played the last three matches with his wrist injury and had an injection before the match. Notably, the great batter felt uncomfortable when he went back to his country after levelling up the Ashes against Ben Stokes’ side. Furthermore, the former skipper reveals that there was a small tear in his tendon and a few other things.

“I did it at Lord’s. I don’t actually know the moment, it was when we were in the field. It wasn’t until that night I was like, ‘geez, what have I done here, it’s a bit sore. I played the next game and then I had a cortisone [injection] before Old Trafford. I got back [to Australia] and I was like, ‘[It’s] still not quite right. I still can’t do a lot of things properly. I had another scan. There was a small tear in the tendon as well as a couple of other things,” Steve Smith said as quoted by ESPNCricinfo.

Meanwhile, according to reports, the Australian star batter is expected to get fully fit ahead of the marquee event, which is slated to commence on October 5 in India.
