‘India main toh har player ke saath yahi hota hai’ – Fans react to bold statement by Imad Wasim threatening to take action against PCB

Imad Wasim, the all-rounder for Pakistan, has expressed his anger at the selectors for leaving him off the team without warning. If this occurs once again, the 34-year-old has promised to take professional action. Wasim has been absent from the squad for over twelve months without an explanation.

Wasim’s most recent T20I match before 2023 came in November 2021 in Dubai against Australia, and he had only recently made a comeback for the T20I series that lasted three games in the UAE against Afghanistan in March 2023. The left-handed player admitted during an appearance with a local TV station that the selection committee did not give him a justification for being left off the team. He made it obvious that in the future, he won’t put up with being let go without appropriate notice.

Imad Wasim said that they are keeping him away without any reason. He said, “They [selectors} never told the reason behind keeping me away from the national team for the last one and a half year. I won’t let this happen again. My actions will be more important this time around. I am at that stage of my career that I have to take a step if they drop me without any reason again.”

I never suffered any financial loss: Imad Wasim

The all-rounder was also asked about his economic situation considering he was not in the team for a long period of time. He said, “I never suffered any financial loss while I was away from the team. In fact, I earned ten times more than what I would have earned while playing for Pakistan.”

Wasim not only played well, but he also took nine wickets for a batting average of 28.22 with an economy of 7.93 against Afghanistan. His inclusion in the T20I team for the forthcoming five-match series versus New Zealand, which will start on April 14 in Lahore, comes as no surprise. Wasim has participated in 61 matches and represented Pakistan in T20Is before, accumulating 434 runs at a pace of 15.50 with a strike rate of 130.72. Despite the fact that he has only played for a half-century, his performance as a whole has been remarkable, and the squad will undoubtedly benefit from having him on it.
