‘Intezar hai RP ka’ – Fans react as Rishabh Pant reportedly set to make his comeback during the Test series against England in January 2024

According to reports, India stalwart batter Rishabh Pant is all set to make his comeback in the squad. Notably, the wicketkeeper batter will be featured in the five-match Test series against England in January 2024. In addition, the young batter’s comeback will definitely boost Rohit Sharma’s side in the 2023–25 World Test Championship Cycle.

Notably, the 25-year-old batter met with an accident on December 30, 2022, when he was on his way to his hometown, Roorkee, Uttarakhand, to give a New Year’s surprise to his mother. In addition, the southpaw suffered multiple injuries, but there was no harm to the brain or spinal cord. Following the same, the stylish left-handed batter had successful surgery early this year.

Moreover, after his grave accident, the Delhi Capitals skipper had to miss the IPL 2023, and in his absence, the team had a poor performance and finished at the bottom of the points table, whereas the Rohit Sharma side had missed him in the World Test Championship Final as Team India suffered a 209-run loss against Pat Cummins side at The Oval in London in June.

In addition, the star batter will also miss the upcoming Asia Cup, which is all set to begin on August 30, and the ODI World Cup, which is slated to commence in the months of October and November in host Country India.

Furthermore, the Uttarakhand-born cricketer is often seen practising in the nets in the videos that are often shared by the Indian Cricket Board. Meanwhile, some reports also suggest that Indian star batters Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul are also set to make their return ahead of the Asia Cup and World Cup. Notably, LSG skipper KL Rahul sustained a leg injury during the IPL in the game against RCB, whereas Shreyas Iyer sustained injuries in the fourth Test match during the Border Gavaskar Trophy earlier this year.

Meanwhile, star pacers Jasprit Bumrah and Prasidh Krishna returned to the squad and will be featuring in the Ireland tour.
