‘Isliye jagah dekh ke muh kholna hota hai’ – Fans react to Henrich Klaasen getting fined by the Indian Premier League
After a no-ball incident during the game between the Lucknow Super Giants and the Gujarat Titans, the audience got into a fight with the Lucknow Super Giants dugout, which caused an unwelcome controversy during Sunrisers Hyderabad’s batting innings. The on-field umpire called a no-ball for Abdul Samad from Avesh Khan’s bowling in the penultimate over. The third umpire deemed it a good delivery since the ball landed within the height after LSG later challenged the call.
Who all got penalised during yesterday’s day game?
Heinrich Klaasen of Sunrisers Hyderabad was penalised 10% of his match fee for violating the IPL Code of Conduct on May 13 during the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium encounter against Lucknow Super Giants.
In accordance with Article 2.7 of the IPL Code of Conduct, which prohibits the use of improper remarks and public criticism, Klaasen admitted to committing the Level 1 infraction. Amit Mishra of the Lucknow Super Giants has received criticism for transgressing the Indian Premier League Code of Conduct. Mishra acknowledged committing a Level 1 infraction under Article 2.2, which deals with using improper equipment while playing. The leg spinner consented to the penalty. The match referee’s decision for Level 1 infractions of the Code of Conduct is final and binding.
Following a seven-wicket victory over SunRisers Hyderabad, Lucknow Super Giants moved back up to fourth place. Marcus Stoinis, along with Nicholas Pooran, smashed the joint-highest 31 runs against Abhishek Sharma in the 16th over to help Lucknow Super Giants win the game. Stoinis played a 40 off 25-ball knock, and Pooran smacked a quick-fire 44 off just 13 balls to finish unbeaten and take his side home in the chase.
On May 16, Lucknow Super Giants will play the Mumbai Indians which is going to be a crucial encounter at the Ekana Cricket Stadium, and on May 18, Royal Challengers Bangalore will face the SRH side, who are on the brink of getting knocked out of the IPL 2023.

May be bcci downfall may start here….juz hypothetically thinking how ipl will be if there are no overseas players as they starts ignoring for freedom of speech 👀
— ABILASH (@Mr_lntrovert) May 13, 2023
If there is no such code of conduct, everyone will start to question umpire decision like outside normal cricket tournaments 😂🤣
For every ball every signal, there will be fights and disagreements.
So code of conduct is for that, and fine is absolutely correct.— KrishsirK (@Krishna40541544) May 13, 2023
I tend to agree with Klaasen. Many of their decisions with regard to height of the ball was certainly questionable. Why doesn’t ICC fine umpires as well for wrong decision making! It would be good for the game.

If the umpiring is bad they should be pulled up. Now they have technology to help. Players cannot be pulled if indeed there was a wrong decision

who fines the umpires for giving wrong decisions?
— Rubix Cube (@RubixCube99) May 13, 2023
So there is no freedom of speech??
Klaasen statement was absolutely true.
Even umpires should be fined for poor umpiring.— Avinash droxtaa (@d_droxtaa) May 13, 2023
Did they cut match fee of dhoni for charging into field and misbehaving with umpires?
— Shashank Sharma (@Shankify_99) May 13, 2023
He is absolutely right. This IPL 2023 Third Class umpiring
