‘Isse pehle mein tujhe gaddar bolke…’ – Fans bemused after Hardik Pandya’s ‘CSK has been inspiring for me’ statement

Gujarat Titans skipper Hardik Pandya has picked four-time IPL champions, Chennai Super Kings as an inspiration for him. The all-rounder’s IPL career started with the Mumbai Indians in 2015. That year, the team won the title after having a poor start in the season. Meanwhile, from that year, till 2021, he kept playing for the team. However, ahead of the 2022 player auction, Pandya was released.

He then joined the franchise that represents his home state, Gujarat. The 29-year-old was appointed as captain and the team went on to win their maiden title in the debut season. In the ongoing tournament, the Blue Brigade are looking to defend their title. Meanwhile, Hardik said that the CSK side is the inspiration for him but the fans aren’t liking his comments at all.

I wasn’t able to finish the game: Hardik Pandya

Meanwhile, the defending champions shockingly lost their reverse fixture against the last-placed, Delhi Capitals. Despite being asked to chase 130-odd runs, the team lost the game by five runs.

During the post-match presentation, he said: “I tried my best but could not capitalize. It boils down to me. It boils down to how I was not able to finish the game. Full marks to their bowlers as well and full ownership for my side where I could not finish the game. I should’ve.”

“I feel sorry for him. If you bowl like that, then you get the team on 129, I think batters disappointed. I don’t think the ball did a lot. I think it’s just that Mohammed Shami’s skill set which he has and he made the ball talk. Otherwise, I think for fast bowlers, the wicket did not have much assistance. But the way he bowled four on the trot and got us in the game, full credit,” Pandya said about Shami.
