‘Itna poetic moment mai sambhal nahi paunga’ – Fans react as Peter Drury confirms that he’ll meet Harsha Bhogle in London during Test Championship final

The most well-known football commentator who has ever supported the sport is Peter Drury. Currently, a video of Drury claiming to be eager to meet Indian pundit Harsha Bhogle in London has gone viral before the Test Championship Final at the Oval in England.

He was heard saying, “Harsha Bhogle is my hero,” during the Europa League final broadcast. Fans went nuts after viewing that and expressed their opinions. One of the most prominent Indian sports pundits, particularly for cricket, is Harsha. But he also posted a tweet that read: “He exaggerates so stylishly! Indeed #peterdrury, look forward to meeting you next week and sharing thoughts on sport and broadcasting.”

Here’s the tweet Harsha Bhogle shared:

Jim Beglin played the catalyst in this meeting

On May 25, a fan enquired of Harsha as to whether he had ever met or listened to Peter Drury. He queried: “Have you listened to Peter Dury @bhogleharsha? Do you love his style?” In reply, he wrote: “Yes. I hope to meet him someday.” Then, to make this happen, another fan tweeted while including Jim Beglin. He stated: “@jimbeglin Please make this happen!”

In reply to that, Beglin wrote: “Might well be tricky as @bhogleharsha would need to travel to England or Peter would need to travel to India. I’ll be with Peter tonight so I’ll mention it to him.” The conversation eventually switched to “DMs” after Harsha and Beglin joined the chat.

Australia will play India in the Test Championship final at the Oval in England. Australia won the most matches in the 2021–2023 Test Championship Cycle (66.67% in 19 games), followed by the Men in Blue (58.80% in 18 games), who came in second. The match is scheduled to take place from June 7 to June 11, with June 12 serving as a backup date in case of unforeseen circumstances.

Talking of the Europa League, Sevilla beat Jose Mourinho’s Roma 4-1 on penalties after the two sides were unseparated following extra time at 1-1. This means Sevilla will have the chance to compete in the top flight of Europe, the UEFA Champions League next season, despite a worrisome domestic record this season.
