‘My wife also works in the sports……..’ – Jasprit Bumrah breaks silence on being sidelined due to injury troubles

Team India is all set to lock horns against Sri Lanka during their seventh game of the ODI World Cup 2023 on November 2 at the iconic Wankhede Cricket Stadium in Mumbai. However, it will be an incredible opportunity for Mumbai Indians stars like Rohit Sharma, Ishan Kishan, Suryakumar Yadav, and Jasprit Bumrah to showcase their talents on their IPL home ground when the two sides face off for their next clash.

However, India’s great cricketer, Jasprit Bumrah, who has been sidelined since September 2022 owing to his injuries, has finally opened up about the emotions he felt when he was out of the game for over a year. Moreover, his wife, Sanjana Ganesan, also gets trolled several times on social media, as she was spotted in the field often over Bumrah. The 29-year-old cricketer reveals that it does not matter to him at all what people say about him, and he is ecstatic after joining the squad since the Ireland tour ahead of the Asia Cup 2023.

“My wife [the TV sports presenter Sanjana Ganesan] also works in the sports-media department. So yeah, I heard a lot of question marks on my career that I will never come back and all of that, but it doesn’t matter. I’m very happy,” Jasprit Bumrah told Sky Sports after India secured a 100-run win over defending champions England.

I came back and I realized how much I love playing the game: Jasprit Bumrah

The Ahmedabad-born cricketer was happy to make a great comeback, which made him rekindle his love for cricket. In addition, the great seamer was initially perplexed when he came back to the squad after injury; however, he is happy and enjoying the game in the ODI World Cup 2023.

“I came back and I realized how much I love playing the game. I was not chasing anything. Great headspace was there when I came back from the injury. So yeah, eventually I’m looking at the positives and trying to enjoy as much as you can,” he further said.
