‘Jiska kaam usi ko saajhe, dusra kare toh danda baaje’ – Fans react as Shubman Gill lends his voice for Indian Spider-Man in Hindi and Punjabi

India’s young opener Shubman Gill is in his prime form in the ongoing 16th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). He has already scored 469 runs in the 11 matches he played so far in the season with an outstanding average of 46.90. He was even close to hitting his maiden IPL century in his last match which was against LSG but he fell short of 6 runs.

Meanwhile, great news has come for Gill’s fans as he is set to dub the Hindi and Punjabi versions of Spider-man: Across the Spider-verse. Gill will lend his voice to the leading character of the movie named Pavitr Prabhakar who is also known as Indian Spider-man. Gill himself talked about the same and said he has grown up watching Spider-man, he also said that it’s a remarkable experience for him to voiceover one of his favourite superheroes.

“I have grown up watching Spider-Man, and he is one of the most relatable superheroes. Since the movie will be debuting the Indian Spider-Man for the first time on screen, getting to be the voice of our Indian Spider-Man, Pavitr Prabhakar, in the Hindi and Punjabi languages was such a remarkable experience for me. Already, I feel superhuman. I am eagerly anticipating the release of this movie.” Gill was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times.

His 375 in 10 matches should be around 550 runs: Virender Sehwag

Despite performing well in the league so far, former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag isn’t really satisfied with Gill’s performance so far. He believes that the right-hander should score at least 600-700 runs by the end of the season. Gill’s form is very important as he will play a major role for the Indian team in the upcoming major events in 2023.

“It should have been better. His 375 in 10 matches should be around 550 by the end of the season. He’s played for India in all formats, scored big runs, and should be using his form better. When he finishes the season, it is possible that he has 600-700 runs,” Sehwag said in a recent interview on Cricbuzz.
