Jofra Archer to make his comeback on January 27 against South Africa – Reports

England pacer Jofra Archer is expected to play again after missing more than a year due to an elbow injury. The bowler has been included in the team of 14, which will represent England in an upcoming three-match ODI series against South Africa beginning on January 27.

The national team and the several T20 league teams he will play for, including MI Cape Town in the SA20 and the Mumbai franchise in the Indian T20 League, are relieved by the speedster’s comeback.

The pacer welcomed 2023 on Twitter after a difficult year as he looks to rejoin the English team. Archer tweeted, “2022 Thank you, 2023 I’m ready.”

A day before the cash-rich league’s 2023 mini-auction, word of Archer’s recovery from injury broke. After being purchased for INR 8 crore at the 2022 mega auction, the pacer will play for the Mumbai franchise in the upcoming edition.

A piece of positive news for the Mumbai franchise ahead of the Indian T20 League 2023

In the previous edition, Mumbai had a difficult time, and as they finished last in the points table, they sorely missed the services of Archer. In any event, the franchise will be anticipating the explosive combination of Archer and Jasprit Bumrah taking the other sides by surprise.

A fully fit 27-year-old was seen practicing in Abu Dhabi in November was visible in -action. Additionally, in the first of his nine overs, he struck Zak Crawley in the head with a sharp bouncer.

The three 50-over games of the South African series will be contested over the course of six days, with the opening match taking place at Bloemfontein’s Mangaung Oval. The series will serve as a warm-up for the major event in India in 2023, which is the ODI World Cup. In addition, both sides will try out a few players in an effort to assemble a balanced roster for the major competition.

The Indian T20 League will be the fast bowler’s next outing, followed by a limited-overs trip to Bangladesh.
