‘Kam se kam yahan batting mila’ – Fans react as Rashid Khan spotted playing street cricket with Indian fans

Rashid Khan is currently participating in the sixteenth edition of the Indian Premier League as a part of the defending champions Gujarat Titans. During a rare sighting away from the cricket field, the popular cricketer was seen playing street cricket with some of his Indian fans. Notably, Rashid Khan is credited as the first global face of Afghan Cricket. He is easily the most loved Afghan Cricketer in India.

The video of the incident has gone viral. It shows Rashid Khan batting with a set of plastic stumps placed behind him. He plays two deliveries in the footage while numerous fans capture photos and videos of the Afghan cricket celebrity. Naturally, fans have reacted plentifully to the video on social media.

‘Rashid Khan has not been at his best’ – Simon Doull

In the current season of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2023), former New Zealand cricketer Simon Doull believes that Gujarat Titans (GT) leg spinner Rashid Khan has not yet displayed his finest form. Although Rashid has taken a lot of wickets, Doull noted that his current economy rate isn’t as impressive as it once was. He observed that this time around, batters haven’t been afraid to hit mystery spinners.

Speaking to Cricbuzz, Simon Doull said, “Rashid Khan has not been at his best. He has got wickets this year, but he has not been as economical, and they have taken to the likes of him. They have taken Sunil Narine and Varun Chakravarthy; they have taken to some spinners this year who have generally been okay.”

In his eight IPL 2023 appearances, Rashid Khan has claimed 14 victims at an economy rate of 8.75. In the team’s previous match against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), the seasoned bowler was costly, finishing with statistics of 0/54 after his four overs. Gujarat Titans are still the table toppers of IPL 2023 with 12 points from 9 games. The defending champions look on course to defend their crown.
