‘Kangali mein aata gila na form hai na luck’ – Fans react after LSG skipper KL Rahul leaves the field due to hamstring injury while fielding against RCB

Lucknow Super Giants skipper KL Rahul was forced to leave the field after suffering a hamstring injury during the ongoing IPL match against Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Ekana Cricket Stadium. Rahul sustained an injury while fielding during the RCB innings and was taken off the field due to pain.

On the last ball of the second over in the first innings, RCB skipper Faf du Plessis hit the length delivery by Marcus Stoinis through covers for a boundary. Rahul was chasing the ball but suffered a hamstring while running towards the boundary. At last, he fell to the ground and looked in immense pain as physios attended him.

The physios also brought out the stretcher to take Rahul off the field but the LSG skipper opted to walk his way back to the dugout. Spinner Krunal Pandya is leading the side as a stand-in skipper in Rahul’s absence.

Rahul has been the second-highest run-scorer for LSG in the ongoing after his opening partner Kyle Mayers with 274 runs in the eight matches played so far. However, It is not yet confirmed whether he will bat in the second innings for LSG or not.

Rain spoiled the game between LSG and RCB

Talking about the match, RCB skipper Du Plessis won the toss and elected to bat first. Du Plessis and Virat Kohli gave a steady start to RCB by adding 62 runs for the first wicket in nine overs.

Kohli got stumped by the wicketkeeper Nicholas Pooran while trying to take on Ravi Bishnoi. He got out after scoring 31 runs off 30 balls hitting three boundaries. A few overs later, Anuj Rawat also lost his wicket after scoring just 9 runs giving a catch to Kyle Mayers at deep mid-wicket on the delivery of Krishnappa Gowtham. In the very next over, Bishnoi struck again to give RCB another blow as Glenn Maxwell got LBW out after he went for the reverse hit.

Du Plessis was taking the innings further with his 40 runs off 36 balls before rain decided to play a spoilsport. RCB were 93 for 4 in 15.2 overs.
