‘Khrb performance khud do or gusa dusri cheezon peh utaro’ – Wasim Akram gets angry as Karachi Kings lost a close encounter against Multan Sultan in PSL

Former Pakistan skipper, Wasim Akram, currently the President of the Karachi Kings, expressed his anger after his team’s loss to the Multan Sultans in the Pakistan Super League on Wednesday. It was Karachi Kings’ third loss in the final over and fourth overall this season.

Imad and Ben Cutting each smashed a six to reduce the target to six runs off four deliveries in the penultimate over of the quick bowler Abbas Afridi. However, Afridi maintained his composure on the final two deliveries to pull off an exciting climax, despite Cutting being there for a long time.

As the final ball of the game was bowled and Karachi lost by three runs, the former left-arm pacer was spotted kicking the chairs placed in front of him in the locker room. Imad Wasim, the skipper, was also visibly angry, disappointed, and frustrated after he failed to clear the fence when five runs were required off the final ball.

When skipper Wasim joined Shoaib Malik in the middle, Karachi was firmly in the chase, with 84 runs needed in 8 overs and 7 wickets in hand. However, the combination was never quite able to maintain the required run rate of 10. When Malik was ultimately bowled for 13 off 19 balls, the asking rate had increased to 16 runs per over as a result of his inability to strike the spinners.

In the final two overs, Wasim and Cutting gave it their all, but it wasn’t enough to get their side over the finish line. Their innings came to an end at 193, short of the required 197. Earlier, Multan’s captain Mohammad Rizwan sparked the team to a commanding 196-2 with a scorching unbeaten 110 off 64 balls, his maiden PSL century.

On Thursday, Peshawar Zalmai will take on two-time champions Islamabad United under the leadership of Pakistan skipper Babar Azam.
