KL Rahul hit the nets ahead of Super Four clash vs Pakistan in Asia Cup 2023

The Men in Blue are all set to lock horns against Pakistan on September 10. Notably, Team India commenced their training sessions as they geared up for their opening game of the Asia Cup Super 4 match at Colombo’s R. Premadasa Stadium in Sri Lanka. India’s star wicketkeeper batter, KL Rahul, has joined the nets as well, despite missing the Asia Cup’s group stage match against Pakistan owing to a small niggle on September 2. Moreover, some pictures and images have gone viral of him, which show star batters practicing to face Pakistan’s bowling attack ahead of the Super Four clash.

Notably, KL Rahul sustained a leg injury during the game against Royal Challenger’s Bangalore in the recently concluded IPL 2023, due to which the right-handed batter has missed the World Test Championship Final, the West Indies tour, and the Ireland tour as well. In addition, the 31-year-old cricketer also stayed at the NCA during the opening game of the Asia Cup. Meanwhile, it will be interesting to see who gets the chance for the wicketkeeper-batter role: Ishan Kishan or KL Rahul.

KL Rahul’s stats have been wonderful at position 4

Notably, the Mumbai Indians batter appeared to be in fantastic form on the Caribbean tour, smashing three half centuries in a three-match ODI series. Moreover, the 25-year-old batter boosted India’s middle order during their opening game of the Asia Cup against Pakistan and forged a great partnership with Vice Captain Hardik Pandya, which helped the Men in Blue post a respectable total after they were 61/4. So the star cricketer looked fit to play in the middle order.

Meanwhile, experience-wise, KL Rahul’s stats have been wonderful at position 4, so he may get the nod ahead of Ishan Kishan. India and Pakistan’s group stage match was abandoned due to rain, with both teams earning one point each. Notably, Rohit Sharma’s side was bowled out for 266 in 48.5 overs, owing in major part to Hardik Pandya’s 90-ball 87 and Ishan Kishan’s 81-ball 82. Moreover, it will be interesting to see the next game featuring the archrivals on September 10.
