‘Kuch to acha kiya’ – Fans react as Indian Cricket Board prepares 13-day fitness programme for players ahead of Asia Cup

Rohit Sharma and Co. are all set to play in the Asia Cup, commencing on August 30 in Sri Lanka and Pakistan. Notably, most of the players were rested for the Ireland tour after the West Indies campaign. In addition, the Indian Cricket Board has prepared a 13-day fitness programme for some of the top players ahead of the Asia Cup.

Moreover, according to reports, this important initiative was prepared by the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in consultation with proper trainers and physiotherapists. Notably, this programme includes nine hours of proper sleep, gym, walk, yoga, swimming, and a certain amount of protein in their diet to stay fit ahead of the Asia Cup and World Cup.

The trainer will come to know who has followed and who hasn’t: Indian Cricket Board official

Meanwhile, the Indian Cricket Board reveals that this special programme was created for the next two months with the aim of keeping players fit ahead of the World Cup, which is all set to take place on October 5 in the host country, India. In addition, the board officials also said that the trainers are keeping a close eye on the players and will take a call on which players are following the routine and which are not.

“This is a special programme designed for players as we want them fit for the next two months. The trainer will come to know who has followed the programme and who hasn’t. The team management will then take a call on what to do with players who have not followed their programme,” Indian Cricket Board official said being quoted by Indian Express.

Notably, after winning the three-match T20I series against Ireland, the Men in Blue will be seen in action during the Asia Cup. In addition, Rohit Sharma’s side will be locking horns against Pakistan on September 2 in Kandy, Sri Lanka.
