New Zealand cricketer Kyle Jamieson gets ruled out for extended period; Know reason why?
New Zealand star cricketer Kyle Jamieson is expected to remain sidelined for a long time after suffering another stress fracture to his back. Notably, the great pacer was ruled out of the second match in Hamilton, cramping after picking up six wickets in the opening Test match against South Africa. However, scan results subsequently verified that there had been some serious damage. Although this is a new fracture, it’s noteworthy that this newest setback happens to be in the same area of his back, where he had surgery last year.
Meanwhile, Kyle Jamieson expressed his emotions after being sidelined for a year. The 29-year-old cricketer is grateful for the kind of support he has received from his family, partner, staff members, and management in his challenging and tough times.
“The last few days have been some of my most challenging days but I am hugely grateful for the support I’ve received from my partner, family, team-mates, support staff and medical professionals. I know injuries are part of life as a cricketer and at my age, I am hopeful I still have many more playing days ahead of me,” Kyle Jamieson said in a statement.
I’m a slow healer: Kyle Jamieson
New Zealand star Kyle Jamieson also recalls the phase where he suffered back-to-back setbacks in his cricketing career. Moreover, the right-arm pacer feels that he has a lot to play as a cricketer, and he is hopeful about making his return soon for his national side to continue his dream life.
“There’s a couple of patterns over the last couple of years, which you have to have these setbacks to notice them as patterns around the way you build up for red-ball cricket. I’ve played professionally for 10 years and my back’s been pretty good. History suggests that when you get that process right there’s still a lot of cricket to be played. I get a huge amount of hope from that. There’s been no healing issues in the past, it’s not like I’m a slow healer or don’t heal, so I get hope from that,” he added further.
