Looking forward to the ODI series against India: Pat Cummins
Meanwhile, star pacer Pat Cummins revealed that he will get fit in a few days, and he is looking forward to the ODI series against India ahead of the ODI World Cup. “I’ll head over to South Africa at the back end of that leg. But we are probably looking more at those one-dayers (against India) ahead of the World Cup. It should not be too bad. Another few weeks and it will be right,” Pat Cummins said, being quoted by NDTV Sports.
Moreover, the right-arm pacer was further asked about the ODI skipper after him, to which the 30-year-old cricketer revealed the name of recently appointed T20I skipper Mitchell Marsh. In addition, the star cricketer feels Marsh should be the obvious choice as a skipper in 50-over formats following him. Moreover, the great seamer feels Marsh’s energy is incredible to win the matches.
“The captaincy for the ODIs, we’ve kind of shared around a little bit. We’ll get over there, and have a look at that. The good thing is we have a few options. (Mitchell Marsh) is probably the most obvious one if he’s doing the T20s as well. Off the field, he’s just a great people person. His energy’s infectious, he is great to hang around with, always good fun,” he added further.
