‘Matlab LSG khatam’ – Fans react as KL Rahul’s wife Athiya Shetty spotted at Sawai Mansingh Stadium for RR vs LSG clash

Lucknow Super Giants is currently taking on Rajasthan Royals at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium In Jaipur. Hosting the match after almost four years, the Stadium is covered in pink jerseys to support their home team. However, among the sea of pink, a few blue jerseys were also spotted in the stands.

The wife of LSG captain KL Rahul, Athiya Shetty, was also spotted in the stadium. A photo of her in the stands has gone viral on the internet. In the meantime, fans expected Rahul to perform well in the presence of her wife. That was not the case, as he played a sluggish knock and struggled to get going.

As is always the case, fans have since been trolling Athiya for Rahul’s slow innings. “Matlab LSG khatam,” a fan wrote on Twitter. “Present in whites to see KL’s Test knock! True love,” wrote another fan.

As for the game, RR won the toss and went with the obvious choice to bowl first. This decision worked out well for them as LSG was restricted to a score of 154/5 on a wicket that looked good to bat on. KL Rahul and Kyle Mayers, the two openers, did not have the best powerplay as they scored just 37 runs in the first six overs.

While they added 82 runs for the first-wicket partnership, it took them 10.4 overs to get there. The team skipper was the first one to go as he was dismissed by Jason Holder in the 11th over after having scored 39 runs in 32 balls. On the other hand, Mayers scored another half-century in the tournament but had a very low strike rate. Mayers scored 51 runs in 42 balls.

Apart from them, Marcus Stoinis (21 runs in 16 balls) and Nicholas Pooran (28 runs in 20 balls) played short cameos, but they were not enough to take take the team to a respectable total. LSG managed to score 154/7 in their allotted 20 overs. For RR, Ravichandran Ashiwn, with his two-wicket spell, was the pick of the bowlers, while Trent Boult, Sandeep Sharma, and Holder each took a solitary wicket.

Here is how fans reacted to Athiya Shetty’s presence in the stadium
