‘No 1 player, No. 1 choice’ – Fans react as Jos Buttler picks 3 white-ball players he enjoys watching

Jos Buttler and Co. are gearing up to defend the ODI World Cup title. Notably, England won the 2019 World Cup after defeating New Zealand during the final match at the iconic Lords Cricket Stadium. In addition, England skipper Jos Buttler looked in terrific form as the right-handed batter hammered 82 runs from 46 balls to guide his side, Manchester Originals, in the final of The Hundred Tournament.

Meanwhile, England white-ball skipper Jos Buttler was asked to pick up the three players he enjoys watching the most. The wicketkeeper-batsman named South African opener Quinton de Kock for his leg-side play, India skipper Rohit Sharma’s pull shot, as well as young batter Rishabh Pant’s fearless nature and great mindset. In addition, the Taunton-born cricketer also called his centuries against Pakistan in 2016 and Australia in 2018 one of the best in the white-ball format.

“Quinton de Kock – the way he picks it up off his legs. Rohit Sharma’s pull shot. Rishabh Pant’s mindset, that fearless [nature]. He’s fun to watch. The 116 in Dubai [vs. Pakistan in November 2015] is definitely one of my favourites. And then the hundred I got in Sydney [vs. Australia in January 2018]. That was one of the best I have played,” Jos Buttler said being quoted by ESPNCricinfo.

Moreover, the English skipper also spoke about his best innings in the shortest format of the game. Notably, the top-order batter has named his innings against Rohit Sharma’s side during the semifinal in the T20I World Cup 2022 as one of the best. In addition, the 32-year-old cricketer also mentioned IPL 2022 as his best season, where he emerged as the leading run scorer for Rajasthan Royals, guiding his side towards the final.

“The semi-final of the [2022] T20 World Cup against India – just a really enjoyable innings, but more so for the occasion in the game and the partnership [with Alex Hales]. And obviously in the 2022 IPL – maybe the hundred against RCB felt like a really good one,” he added further.
