‘No one cries like you guys’ – Fans troll Australian journalist as he accuses hosts of doctoring Nagpur pitch ahead of BGT 2023
Many Australians are not happy with the Nagpur pitch that is made for the first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy that is set to commence on Thursday as they believe that curators have manipulated the conditions in favour of the home side. Before the start of the much-awaited Test series between India and Australia, many Australians have claimed that the pitches are not neutral for players.
The pictures from the pitch have gone viral and that has definitely left Australian cricket experts and fans worried. It is clearly seen that the area outside off stump for a left-hand batter has been left dry. The rolling has not been done on the centre of the pitch and is also not in the good length area.
“It’s a multi-toned pitch. The classic saying about pitches is, ‘Oh, it’s the same for everyone”, senior Australian cricket expert Robert Craddock said on SEN WA Breakfast. Craddock bluntly blamed the Indian curators for trying to indulge in malicious means and it would be unfair advantage to the Indian side.
We have all of these discussions, and nothing seems to happen: Simon O’Donnell
“When the Gabba pitch had too much grass left on it, people were saying, ‘Yes, it was not a great wicket, but it was the same everyone. But you can’t say that about this pitch, Australia has six left-handers in their top eight, so if you start multi-preparing parts of the deck that’s straight-up pitch doctoring, it’s poor,” he added.
“I think the Indian curators are looking at a way for India to have an advantage. They potentially think spin will play a huge role and that the best chance to beat Australia will be to play to their strength,” said former Aussie seamer Jason Gillespie.
Former Australian cricketer Simon O’Donnell has requested Cricket Governing Body to immediately intervene and ensure all the wickets should be prepared neutrally without any favouritism.
“If they think the pitch is not right, there’ll be an ICC referee at the game and the ICC will be watching this game. But there’s so many when it comes to India, we have all of these discussions, and nothing seems to happen,” he said.
Here’s how Twitter reacted on Robert Craddock’s statement:
And what when Aussies give Indians green grass wickets that even cow can graze there and ball goes right on the nose for fasters every time

Well then it’s time to bring out the old trustworthy sandpaper.

Imagine having a good enough team and local conditions on your side to win the series anyway, and still resorting to blatant pitch doctoring. If that section of the pitch plays different to the rest from ball one – ICC has to step in and declare it unfit.

Even more hilarious that pitches have to consider how many left handers are in the side ? Hilarious! World have to make it fair for Aussie left handers 👏👏👏
— svenki (@svenki) February 8, 2023
So is it ok if there are only two left handlers in Aussie side?
