‘Nobody has ever reacted this way after being removed’- Salman Butt takes brutal dig at Ramiz Raja

Former Pakistan skipper Salman Butt has come down hard at Ramiz Raza for his antics after being sacked as the chairman of Pakistan Cricket. The latter has been hogging headlines after he was removed from the position, unexpectedly, and appointed Najam Sethi as the new chief.

Raza’s removal invoked different reactions on social media. Several fans criticized Pakistan Cricket for taking such a call, while a lot of fans and former cricketers were pleased with the decision.

The new chairman, Najam Sethi also took a dig at Raza after taking the position. Raja also didn’t hold back and criticized Sethi in his response. He stated that Najam Sethi knows nothing about the game and that whole department changed to let Sethi take the position.

However, Salman Butt believes that Ramiz Raja shouldn’t have reacted that way as he wasn’t removed overnight.

“Ramiz Raja was lucky that the new government allowed him to work for several months after coming to power,” Butt said. “Not only did they not remove him straight away, but they also supported him. There had been talks about Ramiz’s removal. It did not happen overnight. I think his recent comments have left a bitter taste.

“People have been sacked before too, but nobody has ever reacted this way after being removed. It’s like someone has snatched a toy from a kid’s hand. He should not be making such statements and needs to show some grace. He should consider doing commentary now,” Butt added.

Butt added that Ramiz Raja’s recent statements also had an effect on Pakistan’s poor performance against England and New Zealand.

“The team’s recent performances and the comments made by Ramiz Raja have damaged Pakistani cricket. He should accept it gracefully. There needs to be peace. How long are we going to keep fighting amongst ourselves?”, he added.

Pakistan recently suffered a 3-0 whitewash in the Test series at home against England. Babar Azam and Co. are currently playing a Test series against New Zealand.
