The report also indicated that Babar’s future as the team captain will be decided after the meeting. Under Babar’s captaincy at the ODI World Cup in India, Pakistan lost five out of nine matches, and he also relinquished his top position in the ODI batting rankings to Indian opener Shubman Gill. Inzaman-ul-Haq also resigned from the chief selector’s role
Earlier, it was also reported that the former cricket captain, Inzamam-ul-Haq resigned as Pakistan’s chief selector on November 30 during the ongoing ODI Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, following the team’s four consecutive losses. Reports suggested that his dissatisfaction was related to the allegations of a conflict of interest in World Cup team selection.
