‘People remember me for that moment’ – Rinku Singh recalls his life-changing five sixes in IPL 2023 after sealing series against Ireland

Jasprit Bumrah and Co. are all set to whitewash the three-match T20I series against Ireland on August 23. Notably, the Men in Blue won the first T20I by two runs as the rain played spoilsport, whereas they won the second T20I by 33 runs against the hosts. Notably, KKR batsman Rinku Singh won the Player of the Match award as the star batter hammered 38 runs from just 21 balls towards the end.

Meanwhile, the great middle-order batter expressed happiness and called the five sixes that he smashed against Gujarat Titans bowler Yash Dayal in the IPL 2023 as life-changing. Notably, the 25-year-old batter expressed a bit of disappointment as he couldn’t bat in his debut game owing to rain. In addition, the Southpaw says that he always tries to stay till the end and hit a few shots during the last two or three overs. Moreover, the stylish left-handed batter intends to possess calm during his batting.

The plan is to stay cool and calm, and that’s what I was doing: Rinku Singh

“Those five sixes changed my life. People remember me for that moment. I was feeling great when they took my name and the love they have been showering me with. I was incredibly excited to bat in the opening contest (1st T20I). But it’s fine (that rain washed out the play). We won. I always plan to bat till the end, like I do in IPL. I was going for my shots in the final two-three overs. The plan is to stay cool and calm, and that’s what I was doing,” Rinku Singh said being quoted by NDTV Sports.

Furthermore, the Uttar Pradesh-born batter admitted that they have been playing good cricket. In addition, the young batter wishes to win the last and final T20I against Ireland despite winning the series. “We have been playing good cricket. We have won the series and would be aiming to finish on a high,” he added.
