‘One of the brutal T20Is ever’ – Fans react as Phil Salt’s magnificent ton powers England to thrilling win vs West Indies in 4th T20I

The England cricket team won the fourth T20I game by 75 runs against West Indies on December 20 at Brain Lara Cricket Academy. The hosts were ahead by 2-0 after the first two games. However, England bounced back magnificently in the third and fourth T20I and levelled up the series by 1-1. However, both sides are just one win away from winning the series.

During the game, it was West Indies skipper Powell who won the toss and invited the visitors to bat first. Notably, after being put to bat first, England had a terrific start as Phil Salt hammered the magnificent century as he went on to score 119 runs in just 57 balls, featuring seven boundaries and 10 sixes with a solid strike rate of 208, and stiches the great stand with Jos Buttler, who also hammered 55 runs from 29 balls.

In the end, Will Jacks and Liam Livingstone also scored 24 and 54 runs, respectively, to help them after a massive total of 267/3 in just 20 overs. However, while chasing this, the West Indies fought really hard, but they lost the crucial wickets, which made them lose the game.

Meanwhile, Phil Salt was given Player of the Match for a match-winning century. The 27-year-old cricketer has opened up about the tactics and skills he used to win the game.

“I am definitely enjoying it. It is a cool place to come and place cricket. The boys have come out and done well. Very satisfying. The tweaks that I have made to my game have been on the mental side. It is a habit to score tons. I think after the first few overs, they bowled well. It evened out after the ball got older. Me and Jos Buttler realized that we could put them under pressure. They are a very good side. You never know what Dre Russ can do,” Phil Salt said in the post match presentation.
