‘I think his real problem is pressure of being……’ – Ravi Shastri’s audacious claim on Shaheen Afridi

The Pakistan cricket team has locked horns against Australia on Day 3 of the first Test match in Perth. Australian skipper Pat Cummins won the toss and invited visitors to field first in the game. Notably, after being opted to bat first, Pakistan’s bowlers failed to implement their tactics, which helped the Aussies post a massive total of 487 in the first inning.

Australia’s star batter, David Warner, slammed 164 runs from 211 balls, hitting 16 boundaries and four sixes. However, Mitchell Marsh also hammered 90 runs, which helped them post a great total. Meanwhile, during the chase, Pakistan are 6 wickets down and looking to chase down the total. Meanwhile, former India cricketer Ravi Shastri feels that Shaheen Afridi failed to prove his form owing to the pressure he faced in the first innings.

Notably, left-arm pacer Shaheen Afridi was just able to pick up one wicket from 27 overs while conceding 96 runs in the first innings of the first Test game. The well-renowned cricket commentator feels that the situation puts extra pressure on Afridi. Moreover, the legendary cricketer opens up about where Pakistan’s pace is lacking during the Test game.

So that puts immense pressure even on someone like Shaheen: Ravi Shastri

“I think Shaheen Afridi’s real problem is the pressure of being the spearhead of this Pakistan attack. Without much real support at the other end, when it comes to pace. When you talk of Pakistan and their fast-bowling attack, there is genuine pace all the time. And you don’t have one bowler here who is even close to 140. So that puts immense pressure even on someone like Shaheen,” Ravi Shastri said during the commentary.
