‘South Africa ne kiya Australia ka shikaar’ – Fans react as South Africa beat Australia by 164 runs in fourth ODI

South Africa defeated Australia in a must-win game to stay alive in the series. On a good track in Centurion, the South African batting duo Heinrich Klassen and David Miller destroyed the bowling attack of Australia. The duo pulled South Africa out of a tough situation and were involved in a match-winning partnership for the fifth wicket, which changed the match completely.

Australia opted to bowl first and contained South African batters well in the first few overs of the match. In fact, the home side was 120/2 in the first 25 overs. Quinton De Kock, Reeza Hendricks, and Rassie Van Der Dussen struggled to score in the first few overs of the match. What followed was unbelievable. In the last 25 overs, South Africa scored a whopping 296 runs.

Sensational batting performances from Heinrich Klassen and David Miller

Van Der Dussen scored 62 runs in 65 balls. The dismissal of the 34-year-old led to the partnership between Klaasen and Miller. The duo was involved in a 222-run partnership for the fifth wicket, which came in just 92 balls. It was a stunning performance, which will be remembered for ages. The Australian bowlers had no answer for the destruction caused by the duo in the middle.

Klassen scored his hundred in just 57 balls, one of the fastest hundreds in the format. In 83 balls, the wicketkeeper batter scored 174 runs, which included 13 fours and 13 sixes. Miller played very well from the other end and scored an unbeaten 82*(45), which included 6 fours and 5 sixes. As a result, South Africa scored a mammoth total of 416 runs in their 50 overs.

Chasing the target, Australia never looked to be in the game. The pressure of big chase caught up the batters, which led to consistent fall of wickets. Alex Carey tried his best to win the match for his team. The Southpaw scored 99 runs in 77 balls but fell short of playing a match-winning knock due to a lack of support from the other end.
