‘Spelling mistake to check kar lete’ – Fans react as Harbhajan Singh picks his five best players in Test Cricket

Former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh recently picked his top five best players in the world in Test cricket. The 43-year-old took to Twitter where he replied to a veteran Sports Journalist Ayaz Memon who asked him who his five best Test cricketers in the world at the current time are. Memon himself suggested two names and asked Harbhajan to pick the rest three.

“Who are the 5 best Test cricketers in the world today? Not just in terms of skill, but game-changers, matchwinners, and players most likely to come good on the ‘Big Occasion’. I’ll pitch 2 names: Ben Stokes. Pat Cummins. (surely No dispute here surely!). Pick 3 others,” Ayaz Memon wrote on Twitter.

After that, Harbhajan picked up five names from all over the world as his five best Test players. He named Nathan Lyon, Steve Smith, Rishabh Pant, Ravindra Jadeja and Ben Stokes. Notably, three of Harbhajan’s five picks are currently in action in the ongoing Ashes series in England. There have been a number of splendid performances in the Test series so far.

Star Australia batter Steve Smith went on to score his 32nd Test hundred in the recently ended second Test match at the historic Lords Cricket Ground. The 34-year-old got out after scoring 110 runs off 184 balls and helped Australia to post a total of 416 runs in the first innings. Eventually, Australia went on to win the match by 43 runs and take a 2-0 lead in a five-match series.

Meanwhile, Harbhajan’s other pick and England Test skipper Ben Stokes has been getting praised by the cricketing fraternity after his fighting knocks in the fourth innings of the Lord’s Test. The 32-year-old went on to score 155 runs off 214 runs after England were losing wickets at regular intervals. However, his innings went in vain as England fell short by 43 runs to chase the target.

While, veteran off-spinner Nathan Lyon has been officially ruled out of the remainder of the series after he sustained a significant “calf tear,” during the second Test. Lyon got injured while fielding on Day 2 which made him hobble off the field and didn’t bowl or field again. he is set to be replaced by Todd Murphy for the rest of the series. With this, Todd Murphy has a chance to make his Ashes debut at Leeds.
