In the ongoing five-match Test series between India and England.  England has taken a 1-0 lead in the series. England won the first Test match by 28 runs against India. Ollie Pope scored a brilliant knock of 196 runs which gave England a lead of 231 runs.

For the second Test match against India in Vishakhapatnam which is going to start on 2nd February England has named their playing XI. England have made 2 changes for the upcoming Test match.

Jack Leach had injured his knee in the 1st Test match at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium at Hyderabad. England have named young spinner Shoaib Bashir in their squad. Another good news is that England veteran James Anderson has replaced Mark Wood for the 2nd Test. Mark Wood bowled only 25 overs in the first Test match and went wicketless against India.

James Anderson is 10 wickets away from getting 700 Test wickets

To play Test in India James Anderson will be the fourth oldest cricketer. An interesting fact is that Shoaib Bashir was born five months after James Anderson’s Test debut against Zimbabwe.

James Anderson’s favourite opponent is India. He has taken the most wickets against India in his Test career. This is almost the last time he to play in India and he will be giving his best performance in the series.

Overall, James Anderson has played 35 Test matches against India and has got 139 wickets with an average of 24.89. While in India he has played 13 games and has taken 34 wickets with an average of 29.32. His best bowling figure is 6/79.

James Anderson is only 10 wickets away from getting 700 test wickets. He soon will be joining Shane Warne and Muttiah Muralitharan in the elite list of bowlers with 700+ wickets in Test Cricket. After achieving this feat he will be the only fast bowler to take 700 wickets in Test cricket.
