‘Ek aur baar pakistan ko pelenge’ – Fans react as Team India guarantees medal at Asian Games 2023 by beating Bangladesh in semifinal clash

Team India won by nine wickets against Bangladesh in the semi-final match of the Asian Games 2023, held in Hangzhou, China, on October 6. Notably, the Men in Blue will be locking horns with the winning team between Afghanistan and Pakistan in the final of the Asian Games 2023. It is a magnificent win for the nation, as it sets to bring medals to the country.

Speaking of the match here, it was India’s skipper, Ruturaj Gaikwad, who won the toss and invited Bangladesh to bat first at ZJUT Cricket Field on Friday. Notably, after being put to bat first, they had an awful start as their opener, P.H. Emon, piled up 23 runs, while Joy departed for just 5 runs during the play.

Following openers, Bangladesh’s middle order faltered as skipper Saif Hassan, and star batters Zakir Hasan, Afif Hossain, and Shahadat Hossain departed quickly after scoring runs in single digits. Later, towards the end, Jaker Ali remained unbeaten with a score of 24 runs, which helped them post a score of 96/9 in the given 20 overs.

While chasing, India’s star opener, Yashasvi Jaiswal, got off to a terrible start as he was dismayed for a duck after scoring a century against Nepal in the quarterfinal match. Following him, skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad and Mumbai Indians star Tilak Varma made sure that his side crossed the finishing line to enter the final of the Asian Games 2023.

Notably, CSK opener Ruturaj Gaikwad scored an unbeaten 40 runs from just 26 balls, featuring four boundaries and three sixes, whereas middle-order batter Tilak Varma struck out a half-century as he went on to pile up 55 runs from 26 balls, featuring two boundaries and six sixes, to chase down the total with 64 balls to spare.
