‘Good to be on the winning track’ – Fans react as India win 2nd Test by 106 runs to level series 1-1 vs England

Team India won the second Test match by 106 runs against England on Day 4 at Vizag. Notably, Rohit Sharma and Co. beat the visiting sides and levelled up the series by 1-1 on Monday, and the side will be looking to dominate in the other Test match. Speaking about the game here, India’s skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss and invited visiting sides to field first in the game.

Notably, after being opted to bat first, Team India posted 396 runs in the first inning of the game. Star batter Yashasvi Jaiswal was the star of the game as he went on to hammer a double century for India. Moreover, the 22-year-old cricketer made 209 runs from 290 balls, featuring 19 boundaries and seven sixes, to help India post a great total.

However, England could only manage to get 253 runs before getting all out. Meanwhile, Team India could only manage to get 255 runs in the second inning, thanks to a great century by Shubman Gill, but England could not chase down 399 runs and were bundled out for just 292 runs, which made them lose the match.

You know winning a Test in these conditions is not easy: Rohit Sharma

Meanwhile, India’s skipper Rohit Sharma expressed happiness after his young side took the onus and helped his side level up the series after two matches. The 36-year-old cricketer accepted that it wasn’t easy for them to win, but they executed plans that helped them win the Test match.

“Very proud of such a young squad to come up against a team like that. A lot of the guys are quite young in terms of playing this form of the game. It’ll take some time to be absolutely spot on. Want them to play freely without any pressure. Last couple of years England have been playing good cricket. Knew it wasn’t going to be an easy series. Three more to go. We were good with the bat. You know winning a Test in these conditions is not easy. Wanted our bowlers to step up and they did that,” Rohit Sharma said after the win over England.
