‘They have been divorced for a few months now’ – Sania Mirza’s family releases statement after Shoaib Malik’s marriage with Sana Javed

The family of Sania Mirza has spoken out on former Pakistan Cricketer Shoaib Malik’s third marriage with Sana Javed. Sania and Shoaib got married in 2010 in Hyderabad, India and in October 2018 Sania gave birth to their son Ihzaan Mirza.

According to Sania’s family, they both were divorced a few months ago from now. On Saturday Shoaib Malik announced that he had tied the knot with Sana Javed through social media. From Sana Javed to Sana Shoaib Malik has made a change on her Instagram bio as she confirms their marriage. Before marrying Shoaib Malik Sana Javed was married to Umar Jaswal a Pakistani singer in 2020 in 2023 they got separated.

Last year in Dubai Sania and Malik celebrated their son’s Ihzaan 5th birthday. Shoaib Malik also penned heart touching note for Sanina highlighting her career achievements as she played her last Grand Slam match at the Australian Open last year. They both hosted a TV talk show in UAE last year named ‘The Mirza Malik Show.’

Sania team has released a statement on their divorce

They both have kept their lives private even after rumours about their divorce. Whereas Sania Mirza shared a cryptic post on Wednesday, shared a cryptic post, highlighting rumours related to divorce with Shoaib Malik. Sania team released a statement on Sunday, which confirms that they both were separated a few months ago.

“Sania has always kept her personal life away from the public eye. However, today the need has arisen for her to share that Shoaib and she have been divorced for a few months now. She wishes Shoaib well for his new journey ahead! At this sensitive period of her life, we would like to request all fans and well-wishers to refrain from indulging in any speculation and to respect her need for privacy,” the statement read.

Later on, Saturday Shoaib Malik played for Fortune Barishal against Rangpur Riders in Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). Fortune Barishal defeated the Rangpur Riders by 5 wickets to kick off their BPL 2024 season with a win.
