‘They’re going to get thrashed badly’ – Former Pakistan cricketer fires big warning to Men in Green ahead of ODI World Cup 2023 clash against India

The Pakistan team will be looking to bounce back in the upcoming ODI World Cup 2023 after their disappointing performance in the recently concluded Asia Cup 2023. Notably, Babar Azam and Co. displayed a fantastic performance in the group stages of the Asia Cup 2023, as they registered a massive win against Nepal and dismissed Team India by just 266 runs. However, the Men in Green were unable to carry this winning momentum into the Super Fours.

The Men in Green registered a historic loss against India as well as suffered a narrow defeat against Sri Lanka, which knocked them out of the tournament during the Super Fours. Following the embarrassing performances, former Pakistani cricketer Kamran Akmal issued a big warning to the Men in Green ahead of the ODI World Cup 2023, especially against rival India. In addition, the legendary cricketer heaps praise on the Rohit Sharma side for their magnificent performances in the Continental Cup.

“Mohammed Shami is on the bench, he doesn’t play in this XI. That shows you it’s a complete bowling unit. Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma are in form, Shubman Gill scored a century recently, so it looks a solid batting unit,” Kamran Akmal said on his official YouTube channel.

Pakistan team need to plan really well to put India under pressure: Kamran Akmal

The 41-year-old cricketer feels the Pakistan team needs to really plan well against Rohit Sharma and Co. ahead of their clash in the ODI World Cup 2023 set to take place on October 14. Moreover, the Lahore-born cricketer believes that if Men in Green played with the same mentality as they played in the Asia Cup, they would get thrash badly against hosts.

“I’ll just say that for the match we have on October 14, Pakistan team need to plan really well to put them under pressure. If they play with the same mentality as the Asia Cup, and the way we played for the past three years, they’re going to get thrashed badly. They need to prepare really well,”  he added further.
