‘This is for all our fans across the globe..’- Harmanpreet Kaur shares heartfelt message to fans after semi-final loss against Australia
Indian Women’s team got another heartbreak after losing to Australia by just 5 runs in the Women’s 20-20 World Cup. India were giving a tough fight to Australia while chasing 173 runs, powered by the half-century from the skipper Harmanpreet Kaur, who was controlling the innings and taking India towards victory.
But her unfortunate run-out changed the game and Australia didn’t give India any chance to come back in the game. The 33-year-old felt completely shattered after the loss and was seen crying after the match. She also wore dark shades during the post-match presentation and said that she didn’t want her fans to see her crying.
“I don’t understand how it is going on. But after this, when we go to the room, we will know how many more days it will take. But I think we played good cricket. That’s all I can say,” said Kaur during a media interaction.
A couple of days after the loss, Harmanpreet shared a heartfelt message on her social media and thanked all the fans for believing in the Women in Blue throughout the tournament. She also stated that her team played good cricket and they will come back stronger next time.
“This is for all our fans across the globe who have supported us throughout this World Cup . I thank you for believing in our journey. I know as a cricket fan it’s sad to see your team loose . All I can say is that we will come back strongly and put a great show out there,” Kaur wrote on her Twitter.

On the other hand, South Africa created history after defeating England in the second semi-final by 6 runs. With that win, the Proteas reached the final of the Women’s 20-20 World Cup for the very first time. Now Australia and South Africa will lock horns against each other in the title match on Sunday.
