‘This is just the start and there will be many more’ – Shaheen Afridi’s big warning ahead of India vs Pakistan clash

The Men in Green are looking in terrific form in the ongoing Asia Cup 2023. Notably, the Pakistan team bundled out Nepal for just 104 runs in their opening game, whereas they dismantled India’s batting line-up for just 266 runs on September 2 at Kandy, Sri Lanka. Notably, Pakistan’s star pacer Shaheen Afridi returned with bowling figures of 4-35 against India while also grabbing the wickets of India’s top batters, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.

Meanwhile, speaking on the same subject, Pakistan’s star cricketer Shaheen Afridi did not count this spell against India as the best one. The 23-year-old cricketer feels the best is yet to come for him, calling this just a start while indirectly taking a dig at Rohit Sharma’s side ahead of the India-Pakistan clash. In addition, the left arm pacer feels every encounter against the Men in Blue is a special one.

This is just the start and there will be many more: Shaheen Afridi

“Every match against India is special and people watch this a lot. I can’t say this has been my best spell so far. This is just the start and there will be many more, so the best is yet to come. If you play all the three formats at such a young age for Pakistan and handle the new ball, people expect you to perform like that.”

The star cricketer also talked about his bowling combinations with Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah. Notably, the young cricketer reveals that the trio of them knows the roles with the new ball as well as the old ball. “We know our roles with the new and old ball. Haris is quicker than us and impacts with his pace. Naseem and I try to get early breakthroughs. The communication is good between us,” he added further.

Babar Azam and Co. are all set to lock horns against India on September 10 at R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, Sri Lanka, in their second game of the Super Fours of the Asia Cup 2023.
