Women's Premier League 2024
‘Tu ja yaha se ye trophy tere liye nahi hai’- Fans react as Smriti Mandhana says sorry after Bangalore’s bizarre performance
The inaugural season of the Women’s T20 League is moving towards its second half. After playing four games each Mumbai is unbeaten in the league, while Smriti Mandhana-led Bangalore still finding ways to win a game. They have lost four out of four games they played and are last placed in the points table.
To qualify for the playoffs, Bangalore needs to bounce back as soon as possible and win all remaining games. However, ahead of their next game, skipper Mandhana has said sorry to fans for the team’s poor performance. Ahead of their must-win game against in-form Delhi, Mandhana came up with a heartfelt message for fans.
In a match preview video released by the franchise skipper, Smriti Mandhana spoke about the upcoming games and the team’s performance till now. Mandhana said, “We are extremely sorry, we couldn’t perform the way we were expecting. And thanks for supporting us despite our failure to pull the best out of the league. Keep supporting us, keep us in your prayers we are trying to do whatever we can to get first win onboard.”
Smriti Mandhana faces online abuse after a poor performance
The Bangalore women’s cricket side has had a disastrous start to the Women’s T20 League 2023, having lost every match they have played so far. Several individual faults, including captain Mandhana’s strategy and bad form, have contributed to their struggles this season. Meanwhile, fans crossed their limits on social media ad Mandhana’s comment section and social media IDs have been poured with abusive comments.
However, Team is set to face Meg Lanning-led Delhi at DY Patil stadium in Navi Mumbai on 13 March. This is a change in venue for Bangalore and they want it to convert into their fortunes. On the other hand, Lanning being in the great form will be looking to continue their dominance and win yet another game.
Meanwhile, fans react to Mandhana’s heartfelt message and show no mercy towards her. A Twitter user said, “Tu ghar ja ye trophy tere liye nahi hai.”
