‘Tu wapas mat aaiyo yaar’ – Fans react as KL Rahul hints comeback with latest social media pos

Star India opener, KL Rahul is currently out of the national team as he faced a thigh injury that he sustained during the 16th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) during a fixture between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in IPL 2023.

After a successful operation on May 9 in England, Rahul headed to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru to begin his recovery. To the satisfaction of his supporters, the cricket star indicated that he was getting close to being fully healthy.

On Tuesday, July 11, Rahul shared a photo on his Instagram account showing him relaxing following a workout. He captioned the post: “Starting to feel like me again 🏃🏾‍♂️☀️.”

He should be fit in a month or so: An official

Rahul played for LSG in nine IPL 2023 games before suffering an injury that prevented him from playing. The opening batter had a respectable performance, scoring 274 runs in nine games with a strike rate of 113.22. Rahul was originally selected for India’s team for the World Test Championship (WTC 2023) final game against Australia. But after suffering an injury, Ishan Kishan took his spot in the side.

KL Rahul might make his comeback in the upcoming Asia Cup 2023, according to the latest sources. India will need to make use of the 31-year-old in the local tournament to choose their strongest ODI team as they prepare for the 2023 edition of the Cricket World Cup which is scheduled to take place in India.

“KL Rahul’s recovery is going well. He should be fit in a month or so. Return from surgery is always tricky and he is a very important player for World Cup. Iyer’s progress is slow but we are still hopeful that he will recover by World Cup. But at this moment, it’s not a certainty with Iyer,”  a senior Indian Cricket Board official was quoted as saying in InsideSport.

The dates for the 2023 Asia Cup are August 31 to September 17. Pakistan will host four games, with Sri Lanka will host as the venue for the remaining fixtures.
