‘Usko bhi log sunte hain’ – Pakistan pacer responds over ‘4 feet ke Rajpal Yadav ka bhai’ remarks on Gautam Gambhir by anchor
In terms of cricket, the rivalry between India and Pakistan is unmatched. Due to the political hostility between the two nations, it has been more than ten years since the two adversaries last played a bilateral series. However, the rivalry continues, thanks to world major tournaments and Asia Cup matches. Before 2012, cricketers who had the chance to participate in the rivalry through bilateral series were frequently asked to describe what it was like to play against one another.
Sohail Khan, a veteran Pakistan seamer, recently reflected on his battle with Virat Kohli and his encounter with the Indian team at the 2015 World Cup in a YouTube interview. However, in an extremely startling moment during the interview, the anchor called former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir “4 feet – Rajpal Yadav ka bhai” and the Pakistan pacer responded.
Sohail was discussing legendary Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar’s memorable four-wicket haul for the Kolkata franchise in the Indian T20 League 2008 during a talk with Nadir Ali on his YouTube channel, “Nadir Ali Podcast.”
If you want to ban someone from playing, you should ban them from playing every form of cricket: Nadir Ali
When Gambhir made his “bitter” remark about Pakistan, the presenter abruptly brought him into the discussion, referring to him as “Karele ka first cousin.” Gambhir, according to Nadir, had suggested that India should never play a series against Pakistan.
As Nadir revealed information about Gambhir and his views, Sohail was somewhat taken aback and he questioned, “He speaks against Pakistan?” prior to saying, “Woh bhi log sunte hai” (people also listen to that).
Then, in a shocking reply, Nadir addressed Gambhir as “4 feet ke, Rajpal Yadav ka bhai.” Nadir’s statements didn’t tickle Sohail’s interest to the fullest; instead, he insisted on shifting the subject as the anchor continued to criticize Gambhir. Nadir likely misrepresented Gambhir’s remarks from before the 2018 Asia Cup, when he told the Times Of India.
“If you want to ban someone from playing, you should ban them from playing every form of cricket, whether it’s Asia Cup or major world events. You can’t have conditional bans in sports. You can’t say we won’t play bilateral series but we can’t do anything about world major events and Asia Cup. If you want to play Pakistan in Asia Cup, why don’t you play the bilateral series as well? If you don’t want to play Pakistan in bilateral series, then don’t play them in Asia Cup and in major events either. That is a decision the BCCI and the Government must take.”
