‘Waah kya celebration hain’- Twitter reacts as Shubman Gill fans celebrate his birthday by distributing food to needy people

India opener Shubman Gill celebrates his 24th birthday today. He is currently in Colombo for the ongoing Asia Cup 2023 and will celebrate his birthday in Sri Lanka with his teammates. He has managed to break several records in a very short span of time. The Gujarat Titans opener is the youngest player to score an all-format century in international cricket.

On the special occasion, his fans celebrated his birthday by feeding food to needy people, the video of which has gone viral on social media. They also cut a big cake and fed it to the children and a big placard that read ‘Happy Birthday Shubman Gill’ along with pictures of the cricket star, was seen in the background.

The right-hander holds the record of being the youngest to score a double century in ODI format. Gill made his international debut in the year 2019 in an ODI match against New Zealand. After this, he did not look back and cemented his place as an opening batsman in all formats.

The 24-year-old batter has also risen to the top 4 ODI batters in the world in just a few months. He has an ODI average of 62 runs and is one of the batters to have scored a double-century in only 27 ODIs. In 2023, the 2018 U19 World Cup winner made 624 runs in nine matches with an unbelievable average of 78.00. The Punjab top-order batsman is known for his temperament and match-winning knocks. The Fazilka-born batter has also won the orange cap in IPL 2023 by smashing 890 runs.

The right-handed batter gained his form with an inning of 67 runs against Nepal and will be keen to continue that form against arch-rivals Pakistan and score some big runs. India qualified for the Super 4 stage by defeating Nepal by 10 wickets. Their first match against Pakistan was washed out due to rain. Both teams will be hoping that the weather will be clear on September 10 in Colombo.
