WATCH: Fan hilariously runs away with the ball in street during ILT20 game between MI Emirates and Desert Wipers
During the ILT20 game between Desert Vipers and MI Emirates on Sunday, a fan outside the Sharjah Cricket Stadium stole the ball that MI Emirates player Dan Mousley hit for a six and ended up outside the stadium and ran away with it.
On a pitch that was conducive to batting, Desert Vipers captain Colin Munro decided to bowl first after winning the toss. He made the wrong choice, though, as the opposing side’s Andre Fletcher and Muhammad Waseem got off to a strong start. The pair tallied 68 runs during the powerplay, giving their team an explosive start.
The incident happened during Matheesha Pathirana’s bowling in the 18th over of the innings. Mousley launched the ball outside the stadium and onto the streets on the third ball of the over. A teenage supporter seized the ball and left with it as a memento. Additionally, he demonstrated the ball to a passing motorist.

Kieran Pollard shines in MI Emirates victory
Kieron Pollard again hammered a 104-meter six onto the street in the 19th over, later in the innings. This time, though, a different fan was observed tossing the ball into the ground.
For his 19-ball 50, Kieron Pollard smashed four monstrous sixes and four boundaries. In their allotted 20 overs, MI Emirates finished with a score of 241-3, with Muhammad Waseem (86), and Andre Fletcher (50), both of whom struck half-centuries.
In their reply, Desert Vipers were bundled out for 84. With three wickets, Afghanistan’s Fazalhaq Farooqi was the standout bowler. Imran Tahir and Zahoor Khan both took two wickets.
The Vipers side had to put in a miracle effort to reach the target, as their openers died within the first three overs, rendering the game pointless. By this point, the outcome was inevitable, but Munro’s side nevertheless put everything at it in an effort to pursue the aim.
With the victory, MI Emirates rises to the third position in the standings, passing Desert Vipers and Gulf Giants. The playoffs, which begin on February 8, will include the top four clubs. The championship game is scheduled to take place at Dubai International Cricket Stadium on February 13.
