WATCH: Grace Harris hits huge six despite her bat being broken vs Perth Scorchers women in WBBL 2023
30-year-old Australian batter Grace Harris made it a day to remember during the Women’s Big Bash League game on Sunday. North Sydney Oval hosted the game between Brisbane Heat Women versus Perth Scorchers Women.
Both the teams came into the game after having played one game and having won the contest. A win for either team will give them the chance to go top of the table in the league during the early stages of the tournament.
The match in Sydney was a high-scoring affair as Brisbane Heat came out on top by 50 runs. Sophie Devine the Perth Scorchers skipper won the toss and chose to bowl first and this move backfired big time.
Broken bat doesn’t deter Grace Harris –
Brisbane Heat opener Grace Harris was facing Pippa Cleary and got a juicy half-volley outside the off-stump. The 30-year-old batter whacked it out of the ground for a six. The only problem was that the bat broke into half when Grace Harris played the stroke.
The timing behind the stroke despite the broken bat was such that it carried over the ropes. This left her teammates, opposition, and even the commentators in complete shock and disbelief.
