The incident occurred on Day 3, when Rohit instructed Sarfaraz to stand close to batter Shoaib Bashir. As Bashir faced Ravichandran Ashwin in the final hour of the play, Sarfaraz stood at the silly point.

However, the humorous twist came when Rohit noticed Sarfaraz standing without a helmet. Concerned for his safety, Rohit promptly intervened, advising Sarfaraz not to be a “hero.” The skipper’s lighthearted remark, “Aye bhai, hero nai banne ka (hey, don’t be a hero here),” captured the moment perfectly.

Acknowledging the importance of safety, Rohit insisted that Sarfaraz wear a helmet before taking his fielding position. The 12th man swiftly provided a helmet, ensuring the young player’s safety while fielding in a position prone to potential hazards.

Subsequently, India came out to bat, chasing a target of 192 to secure an unbeatable 3-1 lead in the 5-Test series. The strong bowling performances by Ravichandran Ashwin and Kuldeep Yadav contributed to India’s dominant position in the match.
