Watch: ‘Kohli-Kohli’ chants rock Narendra Modi Stadium as fans take shelter under Virat Kohli’s poster

Amid the heavy rainfall and thunderstorms, the final game of the Indian Premier League 2023, between Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans was postponed to Monday. As the rains fell on Sunday night at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium, supporters sought shelter in and around the venue to avoid getting wet.

To avoid the rain, fans were seen taking cover under Virat Kohli’s poster, which they removed from the stadium. In the clip, people can be heard yelling “Kohli… Kohli…” A video of the same is going viral on social media. A Twitter user posted a video of the incident and captioned it with, “Kohli-Kohli chants in final Match of IPL as King sheltering them. The Aura of God Virat Kohli.”

Here is the video:

Notably, the IPL 2023 Final will now take place on May 29, Monday. The weather outlook for today afternoon in Ahmedabad isn’t perfect, but it’s anticipated to be much better than what happened last night. In unexpected circumstances, if the game gets washed out today too, then the trophy will be awarded to Gujarat Titans for topping the points table after 14 matches, ahead of Chennai Super Kings.

Will CSK beat GT in Ahmedabad?

Speaking about the game, Chennai Super Kings will be keen to improve their records against Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. In their last encounter at this ground, defending champions beat CSK by 5 wickets. However, in Qualifier 1, CSK took revenge and derailed GT’s campaign as they beat GT by 15 runs.

Notably, if CSK continues their winning run and clinches the trophy, they will become the second team after Mumbai Indians to win five IPL trophies. On the other hand, if Gujarat Titans successfully defend their title, they will become the third team after Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings to do so. Fans will be looking for a full match tonight without any interruptions.
