Watch: Moeen Ali’s bizarre one-handed switch hit against South Africa during 3rd ODI
Displaying a miraculous recovery, England beat South Africa in the 3rd and final ODI at Kimberley. In their final outing of the series, David Malan and Jos Buttler took visitors to a mammoth total. With the help of their centuries and Moeen Ali’s cameo, England posted 346/7 in fifty overs. Malan scored 118 off 114 balls, while Buttler scored 131 off 127 deliveries. However, before their marvellous innings, the English top order was rattled by African pacer Lungi Ngidi putting visitors in trouble.
Apart from this, a failed attempt by English allrounder Moeen Ali grabbed the attention of netizens. In his brief innings, Moeen scored quick 41 runs in 23 balls and helped the visitors to set a huge target. Although, his one bizarre Switch-Hit grabbed the focus of fans.
Moeen attempted an odd shot during his inning. In the 44th over of the innings, Moeen was facing Tabraiz Shamsi and pulled his bottom hand off the bat to attempt a single-handed switch hit. However, Moeen missed the ball and left the fans shocked.

Meanwhile, New Zealand’s star all-rounder James Neesham made an amusing remark over Moeen’s shot. Neesham poked the English star by questioning ‘Bazball’. It is the name given to England’s aggressive batting style in Test cricket.
Will South Africa qualify for the 50-over World Cup?
Winning the match gave the visitors a morale victory as they have lost the series already. Africa won the One Day series by 2-1. However, this loss blurred the hopes of Porteas to directly qualify for the upcoming 50-Over World Cup. India is set to host the World Cup in October-November this year.
The top eight teams on the points table will be able to directly qualify for the marque tournament. Porters are currently in 9th position and will be looking to clean sweep Netherlands to avoid qualifiers scheduled in Zimbabwe this year.
