Northamptonshire suffered a 23-run loss against Gloucestershire

Earlier, Northamptonshire skipper McManus won the toss and invited Gloucestershire to bat first. After being put to bat first, Gloucestershire posted a total of 278 runs before getting all out. Notably, Dent and Phillips had a decent start, as they amassed 30 and 11 runs, respectively. In addition, Buuren hammered a great century as the middle-order batter hammered 108 runs from 102 balls, featuring 12 boundaries and 2 sixes. Moreover, in the end, Ali scored 61 runs to post a total of 278 runs before getting all out in 48.4 overs.

Later, while chasing, India batter Prithvi Shaw was looking into the great momentum before getting out for 34 runs. Notably, following him were great batters, with the likes of Gay, Vasconcelos, Whiteman, Procter, and Keogh all departing after scoring single-digit runs. Meanwhile, skipper McManus scored 54 runs, and Taylor struck 112 runs from 88 balls, featuring 16 fours and three sixes, and producing the winning momentum for their side. Notably, once they both got dismissed, the team could not carry the momentum and fell short by 23 runs, as they were only able to rack up 255 runs before getting dismissed.

Meanwhile, the right-handed batter failed to perform well in the recently concluded IPL 2023. The Delhi Capitals batter was only able to collect 106 runs from just eight matches, including one half-century with a strike rate of 124.70. In addition, the Mumbai-born batter also failed to score considerable runs for his side, West Zone, in the Duleep Trophy 2023.
