Watch: Rohit Sharma video calls wife Ritika from the ground after MI’s win over DC

Mumbai Indian skipper Rohit Sharma took a moment and made a video call with his wife Ritika Sajdeh after MI’s thrilling victory over Delhi Capitals in match number 16 IPL 2023 at the Arun Jaitley stadium.

The couple discussed the nail-biting match, which went down to the last of the last over. Ritika congratulated Rohit on the win and added that their daughter Samaira will be happy for the trophy. Rohit then took a dig at his wife by saying, “Samy is happy to see the trophy, not my batting”. After that, the MI skipper added that he will win the trophy for his daughter.

“I was screaming so loud my voice is completely gone it was a crazy game,” said Ritika.

Rohit also revealed that he went inside the dressing room as he didn’t want to see the last over. “I went inside didn’t want to see the last over man my nails are gone. I have been part of this game this kind of game a lot In these 15 years of IPL. I have seen this a lot,” Rohit said.

MI registered a thrilling victory on the last ball

Talking about the match, batting first, DC were bowled out for 172 runs in 19.4 overs. Skipper David Warner played another steady knock and went on to score his third half-century of the season. On the other hand, Axar Patel was on fire mode as he smashed his maiden IPL half-century as got out after scoring 54 runs off 25 balls with four fours and five sixes.

While Warner got out after scoring 51 off 47 hitting six boundaries, Piyush Chawla and Jason Behrendorff took 3-3 wickets each for MI. Riley Meredith scalped 1, while Hrithik Shokeen put 1 in his bag as well.

Chasing the winning total, Rohit and Ishan Kishan added 71 runs for the first wicket in 7.3 overs before Kishan got run out. After that, Rohit went on to score his first IPL half-century after 2021 and added 67 runs with Tilak Verma (41 off 29). The MI skipper got out after scoring 65 off 45 balls. After that, the DC bowlers took the match to the last over and MI chased the total on the last ball of the match losing 4 wickets.
