WATCH: Superman Cameron Bancroft grabs a stunning running catch against Sydney Thunder in the Big Bash League 2022-23

In the 39th match of the Big Bash League 2022-23, Sydney Thunder locked horns against the Perth Scorchers side on Friday, January 13, 2023, at the Sydney Showground Stadium.

Perth Scorchers won the toss and elected to field first. Scorchers didn’t make any changes in their squad while the home team, brought in Australian veteran left-hand opening batter David Warner, who played his first game of the 12th season of the BBL.

On the fourth ball of the 19th over, Andrew Tye bowled to Nathan McAndrew pulled with plenty of bottom-hand power towards deep mid-wicket. Bancroft ran to his right from long-on and flung himself full stretch at the last moment before plucking the ball with both hands mid-air. Made an incredibly tough catch look easy there.

Sydney Thunder bundled out for 111

Sydney Thunder was knocked out for 111, giving the Perth Scorchers a pathetic win target.

Ben Cutting’s time at the wicket was brief; he was quickly dismissed for 9 (8) after being caught at midwicket by Cameron Bancroft, Morris’ second victim of the evening.
