‘WC conquer karne nikle hai hum’ – Fans react as India beat Sri Lanka by 10 wickets to win Asia Cup 2023

India won the final of the 2023 Asia Cup in one of the most dominant plays against Sri Lanka. India never let Sri Lanka be in the game, as they dominated the match right from the start. In fact, one did not even notice how quickly the match ended. It was that quick, thanks to an exceptional bowling performance from India, particularly from Mohammad Siraj.

Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bowl first. The match started a bit late due to the interruption of rain. What followed was an exceptional spell of fast bowling from Siraj. The right-arm pacer was at his best and sealed the game with his new ball spell. The batters had no answer to the bowling of the Indian pace bowler. Siraj just ran through the batting order of the home side.

Dominant bowling display from India throughout the match

Right from the first over, India dominated the match. Jasprit Bumrah gave a good start to the team by dismissing Kusal Perera in the very first over. Siraj then claimed one wicket after another, until he claimed 6. There was simply no stopping the Indian pacers. All the pacers looked in fine rhythm. Even Hardik Pandya bowled extremely well and assisted the new ball duo well.

Siraj was the star of the show. In his 7 overs, the new ball pacer conceded just 21 runs and bowled a maiden. In the process, Siraj claimed 6 wickets. Most of those wickets were of top order batters. Pandya bowled well and claimed 3 wickets in his spell of 2.2 overs. The All-rounder cleaned up the tail well and handed over the lead to his team.

Chasing the target, India finished off the things very quickly. Captain sent Ishan Kishan and Shubman Gill to finish the job. The two youngsters did just that, as they ensured an easy run chase and ensured no hiccups. Kishan scored 23 runs in 18 balls and Gill scored 27 runs in 19 balls. India won the match by 10 wickets and claimed a dominant win.
