‘WI is back to win another T20 WC’ – Fans react as West Indies beat Australia by 37 runs in 3rd T20

The West Indies cricket team beat Australia by 37 runs in the third T20I game, which took place on February 13 at Optus Cricket Stadium in Perth. However, Australia still won the series by 2-1 after getting the loss in the final T20I game. Speaking about the game here, it was West Indies skipper Rovman Powell who won the toss and invited hosts to field first in the game.

Notably, after being opted to bat first, the visiting side posted 220/6 in the given 20 overs. Star batter Andre Russell was the star of the game, having hammered 71 runs from 29 balls, featuring four boundaries and seven sixes with a solid strike rate of 244.

However, during the chase, Australia could manage to get 183/5 in the given 20 overs and lose the game. Notably, star batter David Warner got off to a great start as he went on to make 81 runs from 49 balls, scoring nine fours and three sixes, but lost his crucial wicket.

I think we have good plans, execution let us down in the 2nd game: Rovman Powell

Meanwhile, West Indies skipper Rovman Powell expressed his happiness after getting the great win. The 30-year-old cricketer feels that their side had a great plan and they executed it tremendously well, which helped them win the game. Moreover, the middle-order batter also talks about the tactical skills and pragmatic approach they used in the game.

“Very good feeling to come here and get a win. It’s always difficult to play here against Australia, they understand conditions so well. Credit to our boys, they understood the task very well. I think we have good plans, execution let us down in the 2nd game. We understand they are very good but 240 in a T20 game is too much, good to see the boys take learning from that and put it into practice today. You need to be calm and the performances will come. A lot of things to think about as a young international captain before the World Cup,” Rovman Powell said after the win.
