West Indies sensation Shamar Joseph gets ruled out of ILT20

West Indies star cricketer Shamar Joseph is set to miss the ongoing edition of ILT20 (International League T20) after sustaining the injury on Day 3 of the second Test match against Australia at Gabba in Brisbane on January 28. Notably, the 24-year-old cricketer was signed for the Dubai Capitals, but he will miss the whole edition and will soon be taking part for Peshawar Zalmi in the PSL.

The right-arm pacer took seven wickets on Day 4 against Australia and helped his side win the second Test to level up the two matches of the Test series by 1-1. However, the Guyana-born cricketer has already said that he can miss the T20 leagues no matter how much money he gets, as he always gives priority to his national side, especially for Test cricket.

“I will always be here to play Test cricket for the West Indies. I am not afraid to say this live. There will be times when T20 might come around and Test cricket will be there … but I will always be available to play for the West Indies no matter how much money comes towards me,” Shamar Joseph said being quoted by ESPNCricinfo.

Just to stick to the basics, continue learning and learn from the senior ones: Shamar Joseph

Shamar Joseph sustained the toe crusher during the second Test, owing to lethal bowling spells from Mitchell Starc. However, the great seamer played the game with his injured leg and helped his side win the game against the champions of the WTC Final 2023.

“I wasn’t even going to come to the ground today. But thanks to the doctor, he did something to my toe. Need to give a shoutout to my teammates and the staff and give me a good toe to bowl with. I wanted to do it for my team and my country and everyone in the Caribbean. It’s all about getting close. All about believing. It’s taken a lot of sacrifices to get here. Just to stick to the basics, continue learning and learn from the senior ones,” he added further.
